A lead form for a loan or insurance product often needs to collect explicit consent for credit checks, data sharing with underwriters, or communication preferences — obligations that a generic lead form template does not account for.
A long form reduces completion, but required consent language cannot simply be removed to shorten it. Instead, reduce the number of non-essential fields elsewhere, and present required consent clearly and concisely rather than as dense legal text.
Required consent language is not the part of the form to cut when trying to reduce abandonment — the extra fields around it usually are.
Route submissions to a team that can respond within the promised timeframe, and confirm receipt immediately — a delayed response on a financial product enquiry often means the customer has already applied elsewhere.
Include required consent language for credit checks or data sharing directly in the form, not in a separate document a user might skip — this is both a compliance requirement and good practice.
