Agriculture & Agritech

Farmers choose seed and crop protection in the few weeks before sowing, usually at a dealer's counter. We get your product onto that shelf and into their WhatsApp chats before then.

The problem

What makes this sector different

Most farmers buy seed, fertiliser and crop protection from a local dealer they trust, often on credit until harvest, and they believe a neighbour's field more than any advertisement. Kharif sowing starts as the monsoon reaches each region and rabi sowing follows its withdrawal, so input decisions are made in a few weeks and a campaign that arrives after sowing is wasted. Claims have to stay within the Insecticides Act 1968, the Fertiliser (Control) Order 1985 or the Seeds Act 1966, where each applies, and every message has to work in the local language, often as a voice note.

How the decision gets made. A farmer settles on seed and inputs in the weeks before sowing, mostly on the advice of the local dealer and neighbours, and often buys on credit from that dealer until harvest. A tractor or drip system usually waits on a bank term loan or a state subsidy approval. In an FPO, the CEO usually proposes bulk input purchases and sales contracts and the board of directors approves them, while distributors commit to stock at pre-season meetings with the company's sales team.

Services in this sector

What each discipline does for agriculture & agritech

A pack of seed or crop protection usually passes through a distributor and a village dealer before a farmer buys it. So the work has two audiences: the dealer who decides what to stock, and the farmer who decides at the counter or in the field. Each service below is planned for both, in the regional languages of your territories, on WhatsApp first, and around each region's sowing dates.

Branding & Identity

Pack colours and crop pictures a farmer knows before reading

A farmer often picks a pack at the dealer's counter by colour, symbol and crop picture before reading any text. Seed bags, fertiliser sacks, bottles and shop boards share one colour and symbol system, and product names are easy to say in regional languages. Brand colours are kept clear of the toxicity colour codes on crop protection labels. Pack artwork is built around the approved label text, not the other way round.

  • Pack design system for bags, sacks and bottles
  • Product names checked in each regional language
  • Dealer shop board and counter display templates

Web Design & UI/UX

Crop guides that open quickly from a WhatsApp link

Many farmers reach your site from a WhatsApp link, on an entry-level phone with a patchy signal. We design light pages in regional languages, with crop-wise guides that give dose and timing from the approved label, a dealer locator by district and taluk, and a click-to-WhatsApp button instead of long forms. Exporters and FPOs get an English section for importers, covering varieties, packing, harvest windows and the export documents you can provide.

  • Regional-language crop and product guides
  • Dealer locator by district and taluk
  • English importer section for exporters and FPOs

Digital Marketing

Click-to-WhatsApp ads timed to each district's sowing window

We run click-to-WhatsApp ads, YouTube demonstration clips and Google Ads by district and language, starting when farmers there begin planning the next crop. Before the season, WhatsApp and email updates tell distributors what will be promoted in their territory, so stock is on the shelf when the ads start. We also help dealers keep a Google Business Profile, so their shop appears when a farmer searches for seed or fertiliser nearby.

  • Media plan set from kharif and rabi sowing dates by district
  • Click-to-WhatsApp and YouTube demonstration ads
  • Dealer Google Business Profiles listing stocked brands and hours

Digital Transformation

Farmer demand matched to dealer stock before sowing

The costly failure in farm inputs is a farmer who comes to a dealer's shop for the hybrid in your advert and finds none left. We link the WhatsApp Business Platform to your distributor management system or order sheets and to field officers' demo plot and visit records. Demand by crop and village then sits beside what each dealer has ordered, so your sales team can move stock while the sowing window is open.

  • WhatsApp Business Platform linked to distributor order data
  • Digital demo plot and field visit register
  • Village-level demand set against dealer stock

Our approach

How we work in agriculture & agritech

01

We set campaign dates from the sowing window for each crop and district, so dealer stocking material goes out before the season and farmer messages arrive in the weeks before sowing.

02

We write and voice content in the regional languages of your sales territories, with WhatsApp as the main channel: short videos, voice notes and crop-wise messages for farmers who prefer listening to reading.

03

We give dealers and distributors ready-made kits of posters, WhatsApp creatives and crop-wise leaflets with their own shop name and number added.

04

We give your field teams a simple filming brief for demo plots and farmer meetings, then edit their footage into short clips, so one field day can be shared across a district through dealers' WhatsApp groups.

Questions

Agriculture & Agritech marketing, answered

Our dealers are spread across several states. Do we need content in every language?
Not all at once. We start with the states and crops that matter most in the coming season, produce material there in the local language, and add others as the plan grows. A short WhatsApp video or voice note in Kannada or Marathi is more likely to be watched and forwarded by farmers there than a polished English brochure, and a dealer can pass it on the same day.
A distributor wants a leaflet saying our fungicide also works on chilli, but chilli is not on the label. Can you make it?
No. Under the Insecticides Act 1968, a crop protection product should be promoted only for the crops and pests covered by the label approved by the Central Insecticides Board and Registration Committee. A new crop needs a label claim extension first. We draft crop protection material from that label, fertiliser material from the specification under the Fertiliser (Control) Order 1985, and seed material from the details on the seed tag.
We run an agritech platform, not an input company. Does the same approach apply?
Mostly, with a different emphasis. A platform has to win a farmer's first transaction without a dealer vouching for it, so we lean on field demonstrations, farmers explaining the service in their own words and plain instructions on how orders, payments or advice work. We also prepare separate material for the lenders, input companies and buyers you partner with.
