A manufacturing quote form has to walk a line: enough technical detail to let your team give an accurate first response, without so many required fields that a buyer abandons the form before submitting.
Full billing address, GST details and delivery logistics do not need to be collected on a first enquiry form — they slow submission and belong in the actual order process once a quote is accepted.
A ten-field form filters out casual browsers, but it also filters out serious buyers who simply do not have time for it on a first enquiry.
Route by product family to whoever actually understands that line's specifications, rather than a generic sales inbox that then has to forward it internally — the delay this avoids often matters more than any change to the form fields themselves.
Ask for the specification and quantity up front, but let contact details be enough to start — do not require full company details before a first reply.
