Consumer & retail

Food & Beverage

Food brands sell on a thumbnail, a shelf and a festive gift box, and every word on each has to match the label.

The problem

What makes this sector different

A packaged food brand is judged on a Blinkit or Zepto thumbnail, a Swiggy or Zomato listing and a retail shelf, often in the same week. FSSAI's Advertising and Claims Regulations 2018 set conditions for words such as 'natural' and 'fresh', and its Labelling and Display Regulations 2020 decide what the label must declare. Shelf life limits how far stock can travel. Beverages peak in summer, and Raksha Bandhan and Diwali gift boxes are pre-ordered well before the festival, so production has to be planned first.

How the decision gets made. A shopper decides quickly from a pack, a thumbnail or a rating, but getting onto that shelf is a separate sale: a distributor, modern trade category manager or quick-commerce buyer approves the listing after reviewing margins, shelf life and supply reliability. Corporate gift buyers order festive boxes weeks ahead against a budget and a delivery list. For restaurants and caterers, the diner or event host decides after checking reviews, menus and photos.

Services in this sector

What each discipline does for food & beverage

Food starts losing shelf life on the day it is made, so every campaign is planned around the production run. We work with packaged brands selling through retail and quick commerce, restaurants and cloud kitchens selling through Swiggy and Zomato, and manufacturers selling to distributors and HoReCa buyers.

Branding & Identity

A pack that reads at arm's length and as an app thumbnail

Shoppers see your pack across a shop aisle and as a thumbnail on Blinkit or Zepto. We design identities and packaging for both, and lay out the label so the declarations FSSAI's Labelling and Display Regulations 2020 require, from ingredients and nutrition information to the veg or non-veg symbol, allergens and date marking, fit without crowding the front. Restaurants and bakeries get the same system on menus, boxes and app tiles.

  • Brand identity and pack design
  • Back-of-pack label layout for FSSAI declarations
  • Menu cards, delivery boxes and aggregator tiles

Web Design & UI/UX

Product pages that match the pack, and a route for distributors

A food website serves shoppers, gift buyers and trade buyers at once. We design product pages that repeat the ingredients, allergens, nutrition and shelf life printed on the pack, a direct-to-consumer shop that limits perishable items to PIN codes you can reach within shelf life, and a route for distributors, retailers and HoReCa buyers asking about margins and minimum orders. Restaurant menus load quickly on a phone and link to your ordering options.

  • Product pages matching the pack's ingredient, allergen and nutrition panel
  • D2C shop with PIN code limits for perishable items
  • Distributor and HoReCa enquiry route with minimum order details

Digital Marketing

Summer and gift-box campaigns that follow the production plan

We run Google Ads and social campaigns for the summer beverage peak and for Raksha Bandhan and Diwali gift boxes, opening pre-orders only when production dates are fixed and pausing spend when a batch sells out. For restaurants, cloud kitchens and bakeries, we keep Google Business Profile menus, hours and dish photos current. Email reminds past customers to reorder around the time a pack is likely to run out.

  • Festive gift-pack pre-order schedule matched to shelf life
  • Restaurant menu, hours and dish photos kept current on Google Business Profile
  • Reorder emails timed to how long each pack size lasts

Digital Transformation

Near-expiry stock spotted before it comes back as returns

A batch sits in a distributor's godown close to its best-before date while dark stores in another city show it out of stock, and nobody sees both until the returns arrive. We bring quick-commerce seller reports, aggregator payouts, distributor stock statements and your own shop's orders into one view by batch number and city. Where it fits, we set up open-source ERPNext for batch tracking, expiry alerts and distributor orders.

  • Sales and stock view by batch, city and channel
  • Near-expiry alerts for stock held by distributors
  • ERPNext batch tracking and distributor ordering, where it fits

Our approach

How we work in food & beverage

01

Website, listing and ad copy is written from your printed pack, and terms such as 'natural', 'fresh' or 'high protein' are held to the Advertising and Claims Regulations 2018.

02

We plan campaigns from your production calendar: beverage spend rises as summer stock reaches distributors, and Raksha Bandhan and Diwali gift boxes open for pre-order only once batch dates and shelf life are fixed.

03

We rewrite your listings on Swiggy, Zomato, Blinkit, Zepto and Swiggy Instamart with accurate descriptions, images that match the product and the search terms shoppers use.

04

We set up sampling in stores, at events or through trial packs sold online, each with a code or form that shows which sampling led to repeat purchases.

Questions

Food & Beverage marketing, answered

Can we call our product 'natural' or 'high protein'?
'Natural' is allowed only for a single food from a recognised natural source that has nothing added and has only been processed to make it fit to eat, so a blended product can at most say 'made from natural ingredients'. 'High protein' is a nutrition claim under the Advertising and Claims Regulations 2018, and the nutrition analysis behind your label has to show the product meets the level set for it. We check both against your approved label before either word appears on a pack, a listing or an ad.
How do we price the same pack on Blinkit and on our own website?
Neither price may exceed the MRP printed on the pack, and a shopper who finds the same pack cheaper on Blinkit has little reason to order from you. We usually keep single packs at a similar price in both places and give your own website what the app does not carry, such as combo packs, gift boxes and subscriptions. Each channel's price is worked out from the margin left after platform fees, delivery and discounts.
How early should Raksha Bandhan and Diwali gift boxes go on sale?
Work back from the production plan. Shelf life sets the earliest date a box can be packed, and packaging print runs set the latest date artwork can be approved. Corporate gifting buyers and retailers commit before consumers do, so trade outreach opens first and consumer pre-orders follow once batch dates are fixed. We match ad spend to the boxes you will actually have, so campaigns do not promote a box that has sold out.
