Hospitality & Travel

Winning the next stay direct from a guest who first booked you on an OTA, and filling monsoon weeks and open wedding dates.

The problem

What makes this sector different

Guests often find a property on MakeMyTrip, Booking.com or Agoda, read its Google reviews, then book wherever the final price looks lowest, so each stay can carry an OTA commission. A room rate that adds taxes only at the last step can lose that guest, and the CCPA Guidelines for Prevention and Regulation of Dark Patterns 2023 list drip pricing as a dark pattern. Monsoon weeks and midweek nights sit empty while wedding enquiries crowd onto the same auspicious dates.

How the decision gets made. A leisure guest compares the property across an OTA, Google reviews and Instagram, and books wherever the final price and cancellation terms look best that evening. Weddings and corporate events move slower: families, or a company's HR and admin team, shortlist venues, visit, taste the menu and compare written quotes, and the parents or the finance approver sign off the advance.

Services in this sector

What each discipline does for hospitality & travel

A hotel sells the same room through its front desk, its own website and several OTAs, and each sale costs it something different. The aim is more of those sales through channels you control, without leaving the OTAs.

Branding & Identity

A property guests recognise before they compare prices

Photos on an OTA listing, a Google Maps pin and an Instagram reel are often taken by different people at different times. We define the name treatment, photography style and tone of voice so the property looks the same in each place. That includes rules for room and banquet photography, package naming, menu cards, signage and the wedding brochure that planners forward to families.

  • Brand guidelines covering signage, menu cards, key cards and staff uniforms
  • Photography brief for rooms, banquet halls, dining areas and surroundings
  • Wedding and corporate event brochure templates with floor plans and capacities

Web Design & UI/UX

A website that takes the booking itself

A guest who reaches your website has usually seen the OTA price already. We put live availability and the full tax-inclusive rate on the first screen, with the direct-booking benefit stated plainly, such as breakfast included or a later check-out. Room pages show real photos, bed type, cancellation terms and your Ministry of Tourism star classification where you hold it. Wedding and corporate pages carry hall capacities, floor plans and sample menus.

  • Booking engine integration with channel manager sync
  • Room pages with bed type, cancellation terms and tax-inclusive rates
  • Wedding and corporate event pages with capacity charts and enquiry forms

Digital Marketing

Monsoon weeks and midweek nights, not only the peak

Peak dates tend to fill on their own; monsoon weeks and midweek nights do not. We run Google Ads on searches naming your town, your property and packages such as honeymoon stays, and send that traffic to your booking engine. Past guests who opted in hear about long weekends first. State excise rules and Google's and Meta's alcohol ad policies restrict bar promotions, so brunch and bar campaigns lead with food, music and setting.

  • Google Ads for property name, town and package searches
  • Monsoon, workcation and long-weekend packages promoted against your occupancy forecast
  • Past-guest offers for long weekends and anniversaries, sent only to guests who opted in at check-in

Digital Transformation

One banquet calendar, so no wedding date is held twice

Two families are told the same Saturday is free, because the banquet diary at reception and the sales manager's spreadsheet disagree. We move tentative holds, advances and room blocks onto one calendar linked to your property management system, and give every tentative hold a release date. Pre-arrival and post-stay messages go out from the same guest record, and a monthly report compares direct and OTA revenue after commission.

  • Pre-arrival and post-stay messages sent from the guest record
  • Monthly direct and OTA revenue report after commission

Our approach

How we work in hospitality & travel

01

We connect a booking engine on your own website to your channel manager, so a room sold direct closes on the OTAs, and show the tax-inclusive rate from the first screen rather than adding taxes at checkout.

02

We keep room names, photos, amenities and cancellation terms the same on your website, each OTA listing and Google Business Profile, so a guest comparing them sees one property.

03

Monsoon, workcation and long-weekend packages are promoted months ahead, and unsold auspicious wedding dates reach families early.

04

We build separate enquiry forms for weddings and corporate events that ask for the date, alternative dates, guest count, room block and menu budget, so the first call is about the venue, not the basics.

Questions

Hospitality & Travel marketing, answered

Can you help us rely less on OTAs?
Yes, though we would not advise leaving them, because they reach guests who would never search for your name. The aim is for repeat guests and people already searching for the property to book direct, through your booking engine, brand-search ads and past-guest offers. We read your OTA agreements for any terms on direct pricing or promotions before we advertise a direct-booking benefit, such as breakfast included or a later check-out.
What can we do about an unfair review on Booking.com or Google?
Booking.com only accepts reviews from guests who booked and stayed through it, so even a harsh review there comes from a real stay and deserves a public reply that names the complaint and says what has changed. Where a review breaks a platform's content rules, such as one written about a different property, we report it through that platform's own tools. When asking guests for reviews, we follow the principles of BIS standard IS 19000:2022 on online consumer reviews: none is bought or rewarded, and reviews shown on your own website include the negative ones.
We are full in season and quiet for months. What can marketing realistically do?
It can bring bookings forward and give people a reason to come in the quiet months, through monsoon packages, workcations, corporate offsites and smaller weddings. We plan that calendar with you well ahead, because families and event planners book long before the dates. It cannot change the weather, so we are clear about which months are worth pushing and which are not.
